Exploring Testing on MARS*

“Things learnt from an experience lasts forever, and sharing the same might make a difference for others”. What I will be presenting is something which comes from my experience as a Software Tester and what I have learnt during my journey.

I will be discussing and talking about some of the topics that are actually out loud in social media or testing groups most of the times. They float around the fact how testers future will shape out based on current software industry scenario, how we can change ourself with that and wether Testing will actually fall into Endangered species category soon:

• How exactly testers can contribute more to SDLC rather than staying withing the STLC?
• Will there be a relevance to tester’s role when everything is automated?
• Why can’t developers perform testing, why do we need testers?
• How does testers fit in agile teams?
• What could be the possibility or future like for testers?

Are we actually aware of what we are doing as a software tester and do we value what we are doing and do we actually know how exactly we as a tester could be worth for any organization?

*Lastly, please don’t get confused with the title, MARS is just a reference to Future in testing and exploring the possibilities of reaching there. We are still far away from getting the first Software Tester on MARS!
